Results of McAfee Y2K test on Award 4.50G BIOS Chip

(Go back to The Philippines and the Year 2000 main page)

I unpacked y2ktest.exe and it automatically extracted two files to my \windows\temp folder and proceeded with the program. There were no re-boots (unlike y2000fix) and the whole process took me just a little over one minute.

My computer is a Pentium 133 with 64Mb RAM and a 1.3 gig hard disk. BIOS is Award 4.50G

Results

My unit failed the BIOS, DOS, and Windows 01/01/2000 rollover dates, but passed the RTC test. These results differ from those of the y2000fix test. This is an example of an issue befuddling Y2K coordinators. So please be patient with them.

Anyway, what this tells me is I will have to check my date the first time use the computer in the Year 2000, and adjust it accordingly.

If you share with me your results, I will post them here (if you wish). If you do write me, I have one request: No free e-mail addresses (i.e., Yahoo, Bigfoot, Cyberdude, Hotmail, June, Rocketmail, etc.), ok? Don't worry, I won't sell your address or spam you.
