Established in 1927, the Manila
Yacht Club has served as a hub for yachting in Southeast Asia. The Manila
Yacht Club offers a full range of facilities and organizes major international
and Philippine yacht racing events including the China Sea Series, the
President's Cup Regatta, the Philippine Flying Fifteen Nationals, the Picornell
Series, the Puerto Galera Race, and the Blue Gavel Cup. In honor of the
Philippine Centennial celebrating 100 years of Philippine independence,
the Manila Yacht Club has organized the Acapulco - Manila Galleon Commemorative
Regatta and the Philippine Centenial Regatta in 1998.
Clubhouse Operation and Facilities The Clubhouse opens at 0700 hrs. and closes at 2200 hrs. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily until 2000 hrs. The bar is open for service from 1000 hrs to 2200 hrs. The Club enjoys full boatyard repair facilities. Carpenters, mechanics, and painters are available at the yard for repairs. However, these craftsmen are private contractors and not Club employees. It is recommended that quotations be secured prior to the initiation of any work. Yard facilities include a 15 ton capacity travel hoist, 30 ton capacity slipway, and cranes that are available for use subject to the appropriate fees. A hard stand area, piers and a concrete ramp are available. A fee schedule is available from the Office. Visiting Yachtsmen and their crews are welcome. The Club is situated within a closed basin bound on the noth and west with a breakwater. Visiting yachts up to sixty feet may be moored inside the basin subject to the availability of a free mooring bouy. Yachts above this length should anchor outside the basin (please contact the Administration Office for current fees). Upon arrival, visitors should register with the Administration Office and introduce themselves to the Club officers. Service boat operation is available from 0800 to 2200 hrs. Please sound your horn when requiring service. Service boats are available for boats moored within the basin only. Showers and towels are available at the Clubhouse. Laundry and dry cleaning services are not provided by the Club. However, arrangements can be made for laudering by outside service firms. See the Clubhouse supervisor for assistance. Chit-Books are to be used by visitors when purchasing food and beverages at the Clubhouse. Cash and personal checks are not acceptable. Chit-Books are available for cash at the Administration Office. |
