Fourteen-year old schoolgirl Usagi Tsukino would like nothing more than to lead an ordinary life. But being the reincarnation of the Moon Princess means a lot of responsibilities. She has the ability to transform into Sailor Moon, and is entrusted with protecting the lives of those around her from the forces of the Dark Kingdom.

She is aided by the other Sailor Soldiers: Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus. Also joining their cause is the rose-flinging Tuxedo Mask (who Sailor Moon promptly falls in love with) and other Sailor Warriors as the series progresses: Sailor Chibi Moon in Sailor Moon R, and Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto in Sailor Moon S.
