Ranma Saotome has a very unusual problem: he turns into a cute, red-haired girl when splashed with cold water, and only hot water turns him back. His father is afflicted with the same curse, except that he turns into a panda when wet. His fiancee, Akane Tendo, isn't all that thrilled to marry someone who's a couple all by himself. Worse, some of the other characters are either in love with one of his forms, or out to defeat him in martial arts combat. What's a guy/girl to do?

This extremely humorous series is greatly responsible for the recent increased interest in anime. Great character designs, martial arts action, wacky storylines and a touch of romance combine to make this a very popular show not just in Japan, but also in France, Italy, the United States, and China.
