Whisked away by a mysterious woman, Makoto Mizuhara finds himself in the Magnificent World of El Hazard. With him are co-student Nanami Jinnai, history teacher Misamichi Fujisawa, and megalomaniac Katsuhiko Jinnai. They are asked to aid the people of Roshtaria from the forces of Queen Diva and her Bugrom. Katsuhiko, however, has different plans and leads the bugrom forces to victory after victory against the army of Rune Venus, princess of Roshtaria.

Makoto and friends have no choice but to use the Eye of God: a destructive and unpredictable weapon. They travel to meet the Three Priestesses who aids them in the use of this weapon, but they need the kidnapped Princess Fatora to activate it. Things go from bad to worse when Ifuriita, the goddess of destruction, joins the ranks of the Bugrom. Strangely, she looks like the woman that sent them to El Hazard in the first place.
