The search is on for the next holder of the title of Cosmo Beauty, the Queen of Athletics. One such hopeful, Akari Kanzaki, is heavily favored because her mother Tomoe Midou held the crown for three consecutive years. She joins several hundred other participants who are all vieing for a slot in the elimination round to be held in the University Satellite.

As the competition gets fiercer each day, Akari starts having doubts as to her abilities. All the other competitors, like Jessie Gurtland, Mylandah Arkar Walder, and most especially Lahrri Feldnunt, the defending Cosmo Beauty, seem to exceed her skills. But goaded on by her teammates Anna Respighi and Kris Kristopher, she decides to run. Run until all she sees is the light beyond the finish line.
