IFUGAO TRIP
The Internation Harvester Scout is one tough truck! After several mud traps, it finally (well amost) made it to Upla, Julongan, Kiangan Ifugao. It had its roughest test to date when it made an 11pm trip to Malabing, Nueva Vizcaya making its way through steep slopes, mud and a water crossing. But of course, that took several tanks full of gasoline. Here, Angelo is refueling after reaching Upla, 1.5 kms before the house.
Dad & Uncle Laverne are busy surveying the house's site while waiting for Mang Norbing & BJ (Auntie Dalen's son) who got lost after they got separated from the group. It turned out that they went straight past the house and ended up 2kms. further up the road.
This is the old house just below the proposed site for the new house. Fronting it is the stone "hagabi", a gathering place for ceremonies or for just plain socializing.
