There are green pastures out here in UP Diliman - complete
with low tables, cushions, soft lights, an arts and
crafts corner, and strawberry soya drinks. Likha-Diwa
is a pretty little place
that serves all your Vitamin Cs in every possible way,
without burning a hole in your pocket. Their vegan burritos
- aptly called Rice Sa Wrap - teem with cucumbers, tomatoes,
bean sprouts and sweet mango slices, and is quite filling
for PhP 65. Their soups (souperbs) are a heady concoction
of herbs: not to miss is their ultra-rich Calabasa soup,
(PhP 42) which is a whole meal unto itself. They also
serve meat dishes like kare-kare but the seaweed-based
meat can taste a little strange for avowed carnivores.
However, there's nothing that a good washing down of
some anise, banaba or salabat tea cannot solve.
And there are enough conversation pieces - beautiful,
strange artworks hanging on the walls -- to make the
waiting a pleasant experience.
